What is Grapple Cart Obby?

It's a Roblox obstacle-course racing game: you ride a minecart-style cart along floating-island tracks and fire a winch-mounted grapple hook to pull or swing across gaps — solo or with a friend in one shared cart. The group rng dev released it on 2026-08-26, and the ride is deliberately twitchy: Sportskeeda's beginner's guide (modified 2026-09-28) notes the cart slides persistently after being pushed and only slows down gradually, which is exactly why the hook exists — creator footage shows the grapple both correcting that momentum and building speed for long jumps.

The game frames every run around one rule: the cart is your life. A run that ends with a broken cart is over — you repair it mid-run for coins, or you start again. That single idea is what makes the course feel tense: flame spikes, lava floors and unfenced edges are all permanent threats from stage one, and the death screen is always one bad swing away.

  1. Pick a lane in the lobby — 1 PLAYER or 2 PLAYER (colored launch pads).
  2. Ride the cart — manage speed with BRAKE, press [R] to reset.
  3. Grapple across gaps and survive flame spikes, lava and unfenced edges to clear stages.

The official Roblox description is empty — that's why this page exists. Every fact here is observed or API-checked with its date; anything we couldn't verify is labeled Unknown. Full button map: How to Play.

Is it active?

Very — and growing faster than almost anything else in its genre right now. Dated snapshot from the official Roblox API (checked 2026-10-03): 24,542,966 visits · 7,111 playing at the moment of the check · 101,576 favorites · 198,584 up / 14,923 down votes (93.0% positive) · 25-player servers. For comparison, the same API read 9.7M visits and 47,602 favorites on 2026-09-27 — the game roughly 2.5x'd its visits in six days, while the positive vote ratio held steady.

The developer is keeping pace. The listing shows an update shipped 2026-10-16 — the Halloween pumpkin event (video-documented; no patch notes, as always — event watch) — after the unannounced 2026-10-02 patch and the limited-time Hacker Blocks addition of 2026-09-26 (update watch). The rng dev group itself grew from 851,414 members (checked 2026-09-27) to 1,805,383 (official groups API, checked 2026-10-03) and holds a Roblox verified badge. The game is about nine weeks old, and no public patch notes exist for any of these updates — which is why our pages carry check dates instead of version numbers.

The course: six stages — or seven?

What written guides say: Sportskeeda's beginner's guide (modified 2026-09-28) describes a six-stage course where each stage unlocks by clearing the previous one, and cleared stages can be teleported to in later sessions — you never have to replay from stage one just to reach a far checkpoint.

What footage shows: creator OTTER ON ROBLOX (video posted 2026-09-27, 72,458 views per RoHorizon's coverage) unlocks stage seven during a run — which conflicts with the six-stage description. Both claims are listed here the way we found them: a stage list may have been extended by an update, guides may lag the game, or stages may be counted differently (a finale split into two, for example). No official stage list exists anywhere: the game's description is empty and there are no patch notes. We re-check this after every update.

What both sources agree on: the stages get harder and biome-switch along the way — open floating islands with flame spikes, narrow rail-less bridges over water, and a dark lava cave where you swing from ceiling anchors. The hazards page has the full list: Tips — what kills you.

1 PLAYER vs 2 PLAYER

The lobby has labeled lane entrances: 1 PLAYER (your own cart) and 2 PLAYER (a shared cart — two players, one cart), plus an Invite Friends! button. In the 2-player lane, both of you ride together — official art and captured gameplay both show two avatars per cart, and the game's own title advertises the mode. Creator coverage of duo runs describes the natural role split: one player drives, the other works the grapple hook (RoHorizon's October 2026 coverage of OTTER ON ROBLOX's 2-player session).

Heads-up: players report the two-player cart has no brake button (unlike the solo cart's BRAKE). Agree on pacing before you board. (Reported by a captured player session — we haven't independently tested it.)

On PC, creator footage shows the standard bindings: W/A/S/D to move, Spacebar to brake, E to fire the grapple (and to interact in the lobby). Our own sessions were mobile, so we credit those bindings to the creators' videos, dated September 2026, rather than to our hands. Full setup steps and coordination tips: 2-Player Guide.

Observed in-game on 2026-09-22 in both English and Thai clients; prices scale or run promos (Revive rose from 4 to 7 coins between sessions). One walkthrough video (posted 2026-09-26, reported by RoHorizon) describes Skip Stage as "35 Robux" instead of 35 coins — our own read of the actual UI on 2026-09-22 shows a coin price, and Robux would make it the only Robux-priced action we ever saw, so we keep coins and flag the difference. How you earn coins is not confirmed — a "Wins" counter shows above avatars. Details: controls · coin economy.

Who else covers this game

When we first reviewed it on 2026-09-22, no third-party guide, wiki or code site covered the game at all. That changed in late September: Sportskeeda published a beginner's guide (by Swapnil Joshi, modified 2026-09-28), and three gameplay creators posted runs within three days of each other — OTTER ON ROBLOX (756K subscribers, 2026-09-27 video at 72,458 views), Niz & Rex (106K subscribers, 2026-09-25, 41,071 views) and MelonBlox (140K subscribers, 2026-09-27). Tracker sites (BibiBox, RoHorizon) also list it now. We link coverage where it checked out and mark anything it gets wrong — our facts stay dated and attributable either way.

Full guides — and are there codes?

Codes: none verified as of 2026-10-31 — re-checked after the 2026-10-16 update: no working code list surfaced on any searchable surface, and RoHorizon's October articles name no codes. The game's description is still empty (API, 2026-10-31), the rng dev group shout was empty at the 3 Oct check, and no tracker lists an active code this month. Milestone code strings (like a "12mvisits" line) circulate in comments and profile blurbs, but none appears on any official channel we can read; treat them as rumors until the developer announces one. We update here the moment that changes.

Official links: only the Roblox game page and the rng dev group — no official Discord/Trello/wiki exists that we could find (re-checked 2026-10-03). The game has zero Roblox badges (badges API, re-checked 2026-10-31), so the Hacker Blocks and pumpkin-event rewards live in-game, not on your profile.

FAQ

Is Grapple Cart Obby free to play?

Yes. The listing has no price tag, and the entire core loop — cart, hook, stages, both solo and 2-player lanes — is free. Coin-priced conveniences (Repair, Skip, Revive) and a cart shop with style carts exist for spending, but nothing we observed gates progress behind Robux.

How many stages are there?

Six per Sportskeeda's guide, seven per creator footage showing a stage-seven unlock — see the course section above for both claims and their dates.

Can two players share one cart?

That's the headline feature: the 2 PLAYER lane puts two players in a single shared cart, free. One drives, one calls the grapple.

What are Hacker Blocks?

A limited-time addition shipped with the 2026-09-26 update; the announcement says to play for 60 minutes to get one free. What they do in a run is still undocumented — full watch page.

What are the pumpkins?

The Halloween event shipped with the 2026-10-16 update (official API): pumpkins hidden around the course that players find and smush for rewards, per video coverage. The reward's exact content is undocumented — pumpkin watch page.
